Vegan "Chicken" Garlic Slaw Burger

Burger time is in this article! Don't forget the Garlic Slaw I posted a couple of times back? Turns out, it is delectable in a burger as well – specially collectively with TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein) “chicken style” slices. The crunchy garlic slaw and the soft, well seasoned TVP slices go well collectively. Set that all in a handmade pretzel bun topped with seeds and I’m in heaven!
The excellent issue about TVP is that you can time it having said that you want to. I made use of paprika, salt and curry powder, which is my go-to seasoning. Experience cost-free to experiment! :) If you just can't find any TVP in the outlets, you could substitute them with your favorite vegan chicken-type merchandise. There are so numerous of them out there today, how time’s altering!

I really like TVP for different explanations:
- you can store it for permanently – the shelf everyday living is awesome!
- it is relatively neutral, so you can give it the flavor you want! Year it well and it will be delectable :)
- it is excellent for producing “meaty” dishes – without having the animal cruelty.
- it is higher in protein!
- and it is generally cheap! (based on the availability and where to buy it)
Examine out my other recipes employing TVP products (slices, strips, granule).

Writer: Elephantastic Vegan
Serves: two
Directions
- Put together your Garlic Slaw and Pretzel Buns.
- For the vegan chicken slices, heat water in a significant pot and toss the TVP slices in there once it is really boiling. When the TVP slices are soft, drain them and carefully press the water out of them.
- Add olive oil to a significant pan, so it is really coated on the bottom (you can use much less if you use a non-adhere pan), heat it up and insert the spices. Tilt the pan, so that the oil usually takes up all the spices. Add in the TVP slices and pan-fry them on medium to higher heat until brown on both of those sides.
- Assemble your burgers & get pleasure from!
