If you're a woman doing standing oblique crunches with weights, I would question myself as to why. I see people do these ALL.THE. TIME ,  & I can't help but wonder if they realize that obliques have the ability to make us appear wider & thicker at the waist. No thank you. When I gain weight it's in my glutes and in my waist. I rather not accentuate this. Plate twists are a more aesthetic option.
