The further you are away from the edge of the mat the harder it is to curl up. Reach your arms straight up to the ceiling and curl as you press your straight arms to the mat. Reach one leg out and pull the other knee in. Switch. Repeat

Hitting the back of our arms is a challenge. Many women struggle with showing their arms. Frankly, our bodies are awesome, and being plus size doesn't equal arms covered. For me, I focus on triceps to increase my strength and ability. While this is not where I started doing triceps, which are a small group of muscles, and help with the "bat wings" .... this is one of many tricep exercises. The facts:
1-2 females will have osteopenia or osteoporosis
1-5 males will have osteopenia or osteoporosis

People will lose bone density because of:
1. Aging/sedentary lifestyle
2. Lack of a wide variety of proper nutrients; not just calcium
3. Certain medicine such as blood thinners, and certain anti
inflammatory medicine

Here are some solutions:
Eat more vegetables. I always say that you can eat an unlimited
amount of green veggies and this applies more than ever in this video.
Spinach and kale are great. Have a minimum of 5 cups of veggies per
day. Veggies are alkaline and will naturally decrease inflammation in
our body.

An adult needs 1000-1300mg of calcium per day

If you think that milk is your answer for how to improve bone density
you're wrong. There have been studies done that even though the milk
we've been
drinking for generations does have a lot of calcium, it does not
necessarily lead to strong bones as the ads have claimed

Calcium from milk and other animal products is absorbed at a much
smaller rate than from plant based products. Beans, nuts, and
especially green vegetables like kale have been shown to have a
better effect on calcium absorption than milk. Just because its got a
lot of calcium doesn't mean your body is absorbing all that calcium.
Also eat more omega 3 fatty acids to help the absorption of calcium.

Now lets get to what really works 100% of the time to increase bone
density, recover from low bone density, and prevent you from ever
losing it again...Exercise!!!!

Many doctors believe in walking or running to increase bone density,
but...I don't believe this is going to give you the results you want.
I know a doctor being wrong about something and a trainer being

Having extra weight on your bones, joints, and muscles during
exercises is not only beneficial, but necessary for your survival. I'm
sure you've heard the saying, "if you don't use it you lose it." Well the reason
that you're losing bone density is because your not using it. Great

Time to work the glutes, abs, and upper back muscles with the single leg kick.

This video has not been modified for injury or chronic pain issues. Please talk to your doctor before beginning any exercise routine.
You want to skip this exercise if you are in acute pain in your back, neck, hip, or shoulders.

We're going to start on our bellies, feet together and our arms extended out slightly in front of us, forearms on the floor. Arms about shoulder width apart. Palms flat on the floor. First thing that we're going to do is engage in our glutes by pressing our pelvis toward the floor and feeling the front of our hips open up and our glutes engage.

I'm not just squeezing my cheeks. That will not benefit the function of the glute, so I'm pressing my hips into the mat and feeling my glutes slowly kick in and my abs lift. Feeling like I'm pulling my bellybutton up toward the back of my spine, and then I'm making sure that I'm engaging my upper back so I'm not slumping in my shoulders. I'm pulling my elbows away from my elbow and pressing down into my palms.

I also want to feel like I'm reaching through the crown of my head so I'm not dropping my head or lifting my chin up. I want to have a nice long spine. I'm very active in my entire body before I've even started the exercise.

I'm going to inhale two beats with the leg, and then exhale and extend that leg down. Inhale two beats, other side, exhale down. As I'm beating the leg, I'm pressing my hip into the mat so I feel my glutes engage. I'm also staying highly active in the abdominals so I don't feel any pressure in my lower back.
Oh, I noticed that I was starting to slump in the upper back, so, again, I'm reaching my elbows away from my belly, away from my chest, to activate the upper back muscles.

I'm reaching through the crown of my head, staying fully active in my entire body. That is the single leg kick. It's a very active, whole-body workout.

Biceps curls are a staple of getting bigger biceps. That said, not all curls are right for all people. In fact, some biceps curls could be doing you more harm than good depending on whether or not you have a particular injury or weakness. In this video, I show you how to determine the best biceps curl for you to help you build big arms without further injuring yourself.

It is not uncommon for people to struggle with curls. In fact, some don’t even really feel them in their biceps at all. This is someone I call a non-responder and I did a complete video on how to overcome this and get more from your bicep workouts. What we are talking about here is being limited by issues in the wrist, elbow, shoulders or core.

The wrist is one of the most common sites of pain and discomfort when doing barbell curls. This can come from the locked position of the wrist and can create pain that is felt down the inside of the wrist most commonly. There are a few things that can be done to alleviate this. First, you can use less weight on the barbell curl which will prevent the torque on the wrist that can be causing the pain. The next thing you can do is switch up the type of bar you are using for the curls. An EZ Curl bar is made to put your wrist in a more natural position which should take the twisting force off of them and help you to curl more pain free.

The elbow is another site of common pain when doing curls. Here, the discomfort is felt mostly on the inside of the elbow, something called golfer’s elbow. This can be really hard to work around but if you understand what is causing it, you can. An over reliance on the forearm wrist flexors to overcome a weakened bicep is the leading cause of medial elbow pain. You can take the forearms out of the lift however by bending the wrists back and keeping them this way throughout the exercise. This applies to chin ups as much as it does barbell curls. The added benefit here is that you will also intensify the strength of the contraction on the biceps.

The shoulder can be a real trouble spot for certain types of biceps curls. When doing an incline dumbbell curl for instance, your arm is kept at your side and in extension at the shoulder. This places a stretch on the tendons of the biceps that attach around the shoulder joint and within the joint near the labrum. The position alone without any extra weight can be enough to make this a bad biceps curl variation for you. Instead, opt for things like spider curls and preacher curls which place your arm in front of your body.

Finally, a weakened core can make certain curls more painful for your back. If you find it much harder to lift two dumbbells at the same time rather than doing them in alternating fashion, you may have a weak core. Even though the lift is the same on each bicep, the total load that must be stabilized by your core is doubled in the case of the simultaneous lift. This can be worked around by doing them one arm at a time.
