Lesley Logan, author of Profitable Pilates, teaches the Joseph Pilates Archival version of the exercise 'Corkscrew' on the Reformer at Westwood Pilates studio in Los Angeles, California. The Archival Corkscrew is similar to the current Corkscrew. Just the choreography has a few changes. Grabbing the handles on the shoulder blocks roll up to your tall back. Roll down one side and pause barely off the carriage. Hold. Then roll through center and over to the other side. Hold a couple inches off the mat. Then finish your roll up. Reverse and repeat.

Reps: 3 each side

Fine tune this exercise: eliminating momentum is the name of the game. As you roll through center pull your core in so not to over arch the back.

People who do not set weight loss goals and layout a plan tend to give up after a few weeks. Here are some ideas that will add some fun to your exercise program and help you attain success.

Turn up the volume when you workout. Exercising to music is the perfect motivator when you need a little kick start. Dancing with the beat is a great way to get moving and stay in shape. Jut let go, and let your body get into it! When you have fun, you will exercise better. Listen to the music and let it distract you from your body's aches and pains.

Working out is a chore unless you take specific steps to make it fun. Turn your workout into a social event. Have friends join you for a walk or a trip to the gym. Making your workout more social can help you reconnect with friends and make your workout more fun than when you go at it alone. When you exercise with a friend it's so relaxed and fun that you may actually work out more than you intended!

Get a video game for your console that includes physical fitness. It can be an excellent way to add flavor to your workout. By participating in the video game, you will not be focused on the workout. You will find you are motivated to exercise longer, with far more enjoyment, because your workout seems more like play.

Knowing that people will be seeing you while you exercise is an intimidating thought. Finding exercise clothes that make you look great is a terrific way to build confidence. There is a wide variety of styles, colors and sizes for people to wear when working out. Be creative with your workout clothes. This will make the probability that you exercise more likely.

Don't find yourself falling into the same old work out routine day after day. You may end up giving up if you are not having fun with your exercise routine. Switch things around and make things different to keep your motivation going strong. Have multiple music options or learn a completely new routine. If you keep your eyes open you should be able to find interesting ways to liven up your workout.

Always give yourself a treat after each target you reach. Your reward does not have to be extreme. As long as it motivates you, it is an effective incentive. When you are going to reward yourself buy yourself something you want. Just get something convenient that you've been wanting. The reward needs to be meaningful to you. Otherwise, it won't have any motivational value.

Your workout doesn't have to be monotonous. In fact, with a little creativity, you can design a personal workout routine that you'll actually enjoy and look forward to each day. Several ideas on how to add fun during exercise are offered in this article.
